Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Courtesy Clerk/Grocery Bagger to join our team at City Market. As a key member of our sales floor team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, ensuring a safe and clean shopping environment, and maintaining a high level of product knowledge.

Key Responsibilities
  • Bag groceries at checkout for customers, striving to include at least five items in each bag while ensuring contents are not damaged.
  • Assist customers with loading bags into their vehicles.
  • Perform basic shelf conditioning, including restocking and facing merchandise.
  • Inform customers of grocery specials and promotions.
  • Return merchandise to store shelves and gather carts.
  • Clean spills, collect trash, and maintain a clean store environment.
  • Handle and assemble seasonal merchandise.
  • Understand store layout, locate products, and conduct price checks for cashiers.
  • Reinforce safety programs and report any safety risks or issues.
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
Requirements
  • Customer service skills and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Previous retail experience is preferred but not necessary.
