Tax Advisory Director

About the Role

As a Tax Manager at Appleone, you will play a vital role in building and maintaining strong client relationships. You will advise clients on tax planning and strategies, ensuring they are taking advantage of available opportunities to minimize their tax liability.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Represent clients before the Puerto Rico Department of the Treasury and the IRS.
• Conduct quarterly client reviews, including tax projections and liabilities.
• Review and prepare complex individual and business tax returns.
• Ensure consistency in tax and accounting deliverables.
• Research and solve tax issues.
• Perform cost-benefit analysis for clients.
• Work with the firm director and other managers to clarify tax laws.
• Help ensure projects stay on time and within budget.
• Review budgets and project scopes.
• Provide ongoing tax projections and reviews.
• Organize meetings to discuss tax liabilities.
• Review financial records, including ledgers and reconciliations.
• Handle a variety of tasks, from basic accounting to complex entity structuring.

Requirements

• Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field (Master's degree preferred).
• Experience: Minimum of 4+ years of experience in tax and advisory.
• In-depth knowledge of Puerto Rico and U.S. tax laws.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in tax and accounting software (Thomson Reuters preferred).
• Language: Bilingual in English and Spanish.
