Job Title: Medical Social Worker

Hexaquest Health, Inc. is seeking a skilled Medical Social Worker to join our team. As a Medical Social Worker, you will play a vital role in providing holistic medical social services to patients and their families at YKDRH.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Use a holistic approach to provide medical social services to patients and their families.
  • Assist patients in solving or ameliorating physical, social, emotional, and/or environmental problems that may hinder their health.
  • Provide social services to people of all ages, from intra-uterine through elderly.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Develop and implement effective social service plans to meet patient needs.

Requirements:

  • Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from an accredited school of Social Work.
  • At least one year of experience in a hospital or healthcare setting.
  • State of Alaska license at Master's level (LMSW) required or eligibility.
  • Valid Alaska State driver's license.
  • Basic knowledge of computer use.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and write at the college level.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a cross-cultural setting with bilingual language skills in English & Yup'ik.
