Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join our team in the Division of Radiation Oncology at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard Medical School. As a Postdoctoral Research Fellow, you will have the opportunity to work in an interdisciplinary, fun, and supportive laboratory setting, tackling challenges in cancer research.
Responsibilities- Design, conduct, troubleshoot, and validate hypothesis-driven and hypothesis-generating experiments using in vitro and in vivo approaches.
- Work with radioactivity and maintain detailed and understandable lab notebooks and records.
- Mentor research technicians and undergraduate students and interpret, discuss, and present research findings with lab members and principal investigator.
- Perform and support experiments independently and in partnership with other lab members and collaborators, analyzing experimental data meticulously and generating comprehensive reports and summaries of findings.
- Develop figures to depict research findings, write research and review papers, and present at scientific meetings, as well as write grants for external fellowships and awards.
- Maintain intellectual curiosity and commitment by staying up-to-date with relevant literature and research publications.
- PhD, MD/PhD, MD or doctoral equivalent in relevant discipline including DNA damage repair, cancer biology, biochemistry, radiation biology, and molecular imaging.
- Proven experience in designing model systems to investigate the effects of radiation exposure and assessing biological responses, such as DNA damage and repair, is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in molecular and cellular biology techniques is also advantageous, as is interest in radiotheranostics and cancer biology.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with a proven track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals and ability to perform both self-directed and guided research.
- Demonstrate outstanding ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team of scientists and self-motivation with excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
