Job Title: Physician Assistant

At Northwell Health, we're seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Take initial patient histories and perform physical examinations to assess patient needs and develop effective treatment plans.
  • Initiate, document, and communicate the plan of care, ensuring complete screening and preparation of patients for surgical procedures.
  • Perform daily patient rounds to monitor patient progress and address any concerns or issues that may arise.
  • Write orders for medications, laboratory work, and diagnostic tests as needed to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Interpret laboratory and test results to inform treatment decisions and ensure accurate diagnosis.
  • Collaborate with attending physicians, residents, nursing staff, and other care providers to ensure seamless communication and coordination of patient care.
  • Document patient information, including discharge summaries, prescriptions, and referrals, to maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
  • Provide patients with clear instructions and guidance on post-discharge care to ensure a smooth transition to home or other care settings.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program (Accreditation Review Committee for Physician Assistant Programs (ARC-PA)) required.
  • Licensed Physician Assistant (LPA) by the New York State Department of Education required.
  • Current NCCPA Certification from the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) required.
  • Current BLS certification required.
