Street Maintenance Worker

Join the City of El Segundo, CA team as a Street Maintenance Worker and contribute to the maintenance and upkeep of our city's streets and infrastructure.

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Public Works team as a Street Maintenance Worker. In this role, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the maintenance and repair of city streets, including asphalt and concrete repair, sign installation and maintenance, and equipment operation.

• Perform routine maintenance tasks on city streets, including asphalt and concrete repair, sign installation and maintenance, and equipment operation.
• Assist in the removal and repair of asphalt and concrete on city roads and sidewalks.
• Install and maintain signs, including temporary signs for special events and emergencies.
• Operate and maintain equipment, including trucks, trailers, and hand tools.
• Respond to emergency calls for assistance from the public or other agencies.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid California driver's license at a level appropriate to the equipment operated.
• Ability to acquire a valid Class B California driver's license within one year of appointment.
• One year of experience in grounds, street, and/or building maintenance and repair work.

Regularly exposed to vehicular traffic, regularly required to lift and/or carry up to 75 pounds, and regularly exposed to sounds and smells associated with equipment and materials.
