We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team at Urban Recovery. As a key member of our inpatient treatment program, you will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients and providing updates to our medical staff.

Responsibilities:
  • Collect blood samples from all incoming inpatient clients
  • Conduct waived testing for urine and blood work
  • Adhere to NY Health Department regulations
  • Comply with HIPAA law and requirements
  • Practice proper patient identification and labeling of vials
  • Determine the best method for drawing blood based on patient needs
  • Practice infection control standards at all times
  • Dispose of contaminated sharps properly
  • Maintain a well-organized phlebotomy station
  • Transcribe lab results into client medical records
  • Document specimen routes from collection to laboratory analysis
  • Inform medical staff of lab test results
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Current phlebotomy certification
  • Minimum of two years of related experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Good written and spoken communication skills
  • Knowledge of laboratory computer systems
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure
