Job Summary

As a Vascular Sonographer at the University of California, Irvine, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to patients. This position requires a strong foundation in ultrasound technology and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a range of non-invasive vascular exams, including M-mode, 2-dimensional, color Doppler, pulsed Doppler, and continuous-wave Doppler.
  • Recognize and describe abnormal findings, following established protocols and tailoring procedures to provide comprehensive exams.
  • Prepare and position patients, adjust equipment to best demonstrate areas of interest, and operate various stationary and portable equipment and imaging systems.
  • Assist in the training of technologists, fellows, and students as assigned, and maintain equipment and log all reported repairs.
  • Provide written impressions for radiologists and vascular surgeons, and display professional conduct at all times in interactions with staff, patients, and visitors.
Requirements
  • Registered Vascular Technologist Certification (RVT)
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
  • 5 years of experience as a vascular technologist in a hospital or dedicated lab and 2 years of experience in diagnostic ultrasound
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • A.R.D.M.S. certification and current BLS certification
  • Competent with a range of exams, including NICU, Vascular surgery, Elastography, Penile Doppler, Breast imaging, Foam Therapy, Venous reflex exams, dialysis access, arterial upper and lower extremity, carotid Doppler studies, and TIPPS
Preferred Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited vascular or ultrasound school
  • A.R.D.M.S. in at least two specialties
