Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Platform Enablement Architect to join our team at Popular. This individual will be responsible for ensuring alignment of platform capabilities to the needs of internal delivery teams, translating platform capabilities and services into accelerators for development teams, and providing hands-on technical coaching to accelerate cloud learning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with the Cloud Platform Services team to ensure platform capabilities meet the needs of internal delivery teams.
  • Translate platform capabilities and services into accelerators for development teams.
  • Provide hands-on technical coaching to accelerate cloud learning.
  • Support designs and implementations of solutions based on architectural best practices and cloud Well Architected Frameworks.
  • Understand cloud design principles, architectural best practices, and industry standards.
  • Lead the creation of reference architectures and reference implementations for enterprise standard technologies.
  • Support implementation of large migrations of existing applications to AWS.
  • Support design and implementation of enterprise data platforms using a combination of AWS and other cloud services.
  • Provide guidance to Platform engineering colleagues for implementing codified stacks that meet the consuming applications' needs.
  • Participate in establishing architectural standards that enable DevSecOps practices like infrastructure as code, policy as code, and CI/CD.
  • Actively contribute to the development and validation of cloud policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Constantly develop knowledge base of current and emerging technologies, research new and emerging solutions, assess their relevance and potential value to the organization, and present information to teammates and management.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 10+ years of relevant IT experience.
  • 5+ years working with public cloud platforms, at least 3 with AWS.
  • Experience with data center operations.
  • Extensive knowledge of hardware, software, networking, and storage.
  • Experience architecting cloud infrastructures on Amazon Web Services (AWS) for small, medium-scale, and enterprise-level applications in a highly regulated environment.
  • Broad experience with cloud adoption, including application readiness assessment, prototyping of new environments, server builds, data migration, and performance tuning of cloud environments.
  • Experience with DevOps/DevSecOps and working in an agile environment.
Preferred Certificates and Licenses
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional.
  • Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP).

  • Comfortable working in cross-functional teams.
  • Innovative and ability to think outside the box for creative problem-solving.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals of varying backgrounds, levels, and technical expertise.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with great attention to detail and accuracy, intuitive, assertive, proactive, and positive.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, and rapidly changing environment.
  • Keen interest in new technologies, willingness to research, and self-study to keep skills relevant.
  • Must be self-motivated, team-oriented, and able to operate with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in financial services/banking a plus.
  • Experience in agile/scrum environment is a plus.
