Job Description:

We are seeking a talented Senior Software Developer to join our team at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL). As a member of our engineering team, you will play a critical role in developing innovative software solutions to solve complex technical problems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and test software applications to support the development of maritime defense systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize technical requirements.
  • Develop and maintain software documentation to ensure that our systems are well understood and maintained.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure that our code is of high quality and follows best practices.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in software development to ensure that our team is well-positioned to take advantage of new opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on maritime defense systems.
  • Strong knowledge of software development methodologies and tools, including Agile, Git, and Docker.
  • Experience with programming languages such as C++, Java, and Python.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance by the start date and ultimately obtain Top Secret level clearance.
