Pharmacist/Healthcare Specialist

As a PRN Pharmacist/On Call, you will play a crucial role in providing customized pharmacy program solutions that reduce costs and improve patient care quality for our hospitals and health systems.

• Review medical orders and promote adherence to hospital protocols and policies.
• Provide expert advice on drug interactions, side effects, and proper medication storage.
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and ensure adequate staffing to meet pharmacy needs.
• Maintain accurate records of prescription medication received and dispensed.
• Develop and implement policies for accurate dispensing and labeling of prescriptions.
• Provide clinical consultations to physicians, nurses, and staff on optimizing patient pharmacological therapy.
• Develop and maintain a system for recording pharmaceutical interventions and maintaining statistics.
• Comply with infection control practices and maintain competence through educational programs.
• Meet minimal educational and licensure requirements and maintain certification from the College of Pharmacy in PR.
• Communicate effectively in English and Spanish, both orally and in writing, and be able to work on-call, covering employees' licenses and weekends.
