MRI Technician

**Job Summary**

An MRI technician plays a crucial role in diagnosing medical problems in patients by administering magnetic resonance imaging. This professional operates MRI scanning machines to capture images of patients' bodies, which physicians use to diagnose medical issues. The MRI technologist reports to a Unit Supervisor and is responsible for capturing high-quality images, following up on physicians' orders, and working closely with patients to ensure their comfort and preparedness during procedures.

**Key Responsibilities:**

• Capture images on MRI scanners to help diagnose patients
• Follow up on physicians' orders and assess images to determine if more images are needed
• Work closely with patients to ensure their comfort and preparedness before and during procedures
• Take patients' medical histories and answer their questions
• Shield areas of the body that don't need to be examined and position patients for scanning
• Keep patients' medical records and maintain excellent customer service skills

**Requirements:**

• Evidence of current AHA BLS credential
• One year of current MRI tech experience
• Graduate of an accredited program for MRI tech/certificate programs/Associate's programs Clinical Internship
