Job Title: Veterinary Technician Supervisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Veterinary Technician Supervisor to join our team at VCA Cairo Animal Hospital in Highland Park, IL.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct and manage the workflow of veterinary technicians on the floor
  • Cultivate a positive and inclusive work environment, promoting a strong hospital culture
  • Assist in the interview process for potential new hires and participate in the development of the technical staff
  • Manage technician scheduling and assist with staffing and coverage as needed
  • Develop and implement educational programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of veterinary technicians
  • Provide opportunities for staff to gain hands-on experience and ensure compliance with VCA policies and guidelines
  • Collaborate with hospital management and supervisory teams to drive the progression of the hospital
  • Resolve conflicts in a professional and respectful manner

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience as a veterinary technician
  • Strong understanding of technical skills, including anesthesia, radiology, and surgery
  • Ability to motivate, mentor, and lead a team of veterinary technicians and support staff
  • Licensed or able to become licensed in the state of IL (CVT, LVT, RVT)
