Job Description

Scope of Position

An ideal candidate for the Ocean Export Agent role at Expeditors will ensure timely and accurate movement of freight and information, providing exceptional customer service within the Ocean Export Department.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure smooth and efficient freight process flow.
  • Enter accurate and timely data into our operational system.
  • Track and trace ocean export files and report on them.
  • Meet all compliance regulations, internal and external, in accordance with government regulations.
  • Understand the department's process flow and look for opportunities to improve operational efficiency and productivity.
  • Ensure all customer standard operating procedures are in place and updated in the DLSOPs.
  • Communicate effectively with overseas clients, responding to emails and requests in a timely manner.
  • Escalate problems to Management when necessary.

Qualifications

  • 6 months to 1 year of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Understanding of ocean documentation is a plus.
  • Effective interpersonal skills, including the ability to listen, comprehend, and communicate clearly and concisely to achieve positive results.
  • Pro-active, strong organizational skills.
  • Good computer skills (Excel, Word).
  • Hazardous Materials certification (preferred).
  • Fluent in English.
