Spearheading Success in our centers, our Assistant Directors are integral to leading our team to success. With our world-class curriculum and center accreditation process, our Assistant Directors and Center Directors are changing the world one achievement at a time. Educating parents, teachers, and leaders on the value of early childhood education is key to making that value come to life for the children in our care.
Responsibilities of the Assistant Director include assisting the Center Director in leading teaching staff, supporting families, and achieving enrollment, accreditation, and operational objectives. Partnering with parents who share a desire to provide the best care and education for their children is also a key responsibility. Furthermore, cultivating positive relationships with families, teachers, state licensing authorities, community contacts, and corporate partners is essential. Serving in various roles throughout the center as needed, including teacher, cook, and/or driver, is also a vital part of the role.
Requirements for the Assistant Director position include at least two years of early childhood education experience, an understanding of developmentally appropriate practices, and the ability to ensure its use in the classroom. Excellent administrative, organizational, verbal, listening, and communication skills are also required. Additionally, CPR and First Aid Certification or a willingness to obtain are necessary. Meeting state-specific guidelines for the role is also crucial. The candidate must be physically able to use a computer with basic proficiency, lift a minimum of 40 pounds, and work indoors or outdoors. They must also be able to assume postures in low levels to allow physical and visual contact with children, see and hear well enough to keep children safe, and engage in physical activity. Finally, the candidate must be able to read, write, understand, and speak English to communicate with children and their parents in English.
