Job Summary
At United Software Group, we are seeking an experienced Enterprise Linux Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems in our datacenter environment.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Installation and Configuration: Install RHEL 7 and 8 in standalone and VMware environments, including configuration of network interfaces, setup of typical networked services, and security hardening practices.
  • System Administration: Manage system services, software packages, and filesystems using systemd, rpm, and LVM. Perform system performance analysis, system log analysis, and system troubleshooting techniques.
  • Security and Compliance: Implement security hardening practices, including RHEL 7's firewalld, and maintain system security and integrity.
  • Communication and Documentation: Prepare documentation for technical staff and management, including technical procedures, operational flow diagrams, and performance reports.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum 7 years' experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) v6, v7.x, and v8 in a datacenter environment.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills, shell scripting experience (bash), knowledge of yum, cron, LVM, partitioning, TCP/IP networking, and system security.
  • Certifications and Education: RHCSA (Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator - RHEL V7.x and/or RHEL V8.x) or equivalent experience.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience with RH version upgrades: Minimum 2 years' experience with RH7 to RH8 upgrades.
  • Knowledge of system tuning and setup requirements: Familiarity with system tuning and setup requirements for Oracle RDBMS utilizing ASM disks.
  • Web server and email knowledge: Knowledge of rsyslog, Apache, and Postfix SMTP gateway.
  • Microsoft Active Directory and LDAP knowledge: Familiarity with Microsoft Active Directory and LDAP as a client.
  • Programming language knowledge: Experience with systems programming language (Python or Perl).
