Job Title: Senior Project Manager, AI Capabilities Evaluation

At RAND, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Manager to lead the AI Capabilities Evaluation (ACE) project. This role will support the ACE team in analyzing the capabilities of frontier AI systems in diverse fields.

Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Operations Management: Lead the operational planning and execution of the ACE project, ensuring timely completion and budget management.
  • Recruiting and Staffing: Coordinate with TASP directors and project leaders to staff and budget the ACE project.
  • Communications and Publications: Work with the ACE project leaders to complete and track products and publications through the QA and publications process.
  • Event and Workshop Management: Develop and execute ACE project events, working closely with RAND facilities and support personnel.
  • Initiate and track subcontracts, independent service agreements, supplier service agreements, and purchase orders.
Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated ability to work with and create teams, including junior and senior members.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate complex organizational structures.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and implement strategic operational improvements.
  • Strong leadership qualities, including a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with the ability to develop diverse teams and foster an inclusive work environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • Minimum: Bachelor's degree; Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience: 8 years minimum, 10 years preferred.
  • US Citizenship is required to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance. Ability to obtain clearance is not required but preferred.
  • Location: Washington DC (preferred), Pittsburgh, PA; Santa Monica, CA, or Boston, MA. While a hybrid/flex work arrangement is preferred, fully remote work may be considered within the United States.
  • Salary range: $100,100 - $179,700
