Community Engagement Specialist

About the Role:

The Community Engagement Liaison will serve as a key representative between clients and local communities where generation sites are located.

This individual will travel to project sites to facilitate open communication, build relationships, and engage with community members to support project staffing, address concerns, and ensure a positive project experience.

The liaison will work closely with project teams, stakeholders, and local organizations to foster a sense of trust and collaboration, ensuring the project aligns with community needs and expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary point of contact between the company and the local community surrounding generation sites.
• Engage with community members to understand their concerns, provide information about the project, and facilitate open dialogue.
• Organize and attend community meetings, workshops, and events to share project updates and gather feedback.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with local organizations, leaders, and other stakeholders.
• Respond promptly to community inquiries, complaints, and feedback to ensure concerns are addressed in a timely and professional manner.

Project Support:

• Work closely with project management and staffing teams to align staffing needs with local workforce capabilities.
• Assist in identifying potential local talent and resources for project staffing.
• Coordinate and support local recruitment efforts for on-site project staffing and training initiatives.
• Facilitate communication between local workers and project management teams to ensure smooth operations and understanding.

Travel & Site Coordination:

• Travel regularly to generation sites to engage with community members and support project staff.
• Support on-site activities related to community engagement, such as information sessions and community advisory boards.
• Ensure that community engagement practices are aligned with company policies and the specific requirements of each generation site.

Reporting & Documentation:

• Document community engagement activities, outcomes, and feedback for internal reporting purposes.
• Prepare regular updates and reports for project teams and stakeholders on community sentiment and engagement efforts.
• Monitor the effectiveness of engagement initiatives and recommend improvements as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Social Sciences, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 2+ years of experience in community engagement, public relations, or project coordination, preferably in a construction, energy, or infrastructure-related industry.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse community groups and stakeholders.
• Experience in organizing community events, workshops, or meetings.
• Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
• Familiarity with project staffing needs and workforce development is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
