Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Dimensional/Quality Inspector Level 1 to join our team at Precision Castparts Corp. As a key member of our quality assurance team, you will be responsible for inspecting forged bars, rings, and rough machined parts to ensure conformance to specifications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Read and interpret blueprints and engineering specifications to obtain product information.
  • Compare surface finish of workpieces to standard blocks to ensure production of specified surface finish.
  • Measure dimensions such as length, height, and distance between reference points to ensure product meets specifications.
  • Report findings to Inspection Supervisor and write Inspection Deviation Report (IDR) if parts are not in conformance.
  • Set up and try out inspection equipment to ensure accuracy.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or five years related experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of introductory algebra and geometry.
