We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Firefighter Paramedic to join our team at the City of El Segundo. As a Firefighter Paramedic, you will be responsible for providing emergency medical services, fighting fires, and participating in fire prevention inspections and training activities.
Key Responsibilities- Respond to emergency calls and provide medical aid to individuals in need
- Operate firefighting equipment and apparatus, including pumps, hoses, ladders, and extinguishers
- Conduct fire prevention inspections and provide education to the public
- Participate in training activities and drills to maintain and improve skills
- Work collaboratively with other emergency responders and City staff to ensure effective response to emergencies
- Must be at least 18 years old and possess a high school diploma or equivalent
- Must be a certified EMT-P Paramedic with the State of California and hold a valid Basic Life Support (CPR) certification
- Must obtain Los Angeles County Paramedic accreditation within three months of appointment
- Must have a valid California driver's license and an acceptable driving record
As a Firefighter Paramedic, you will be required to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, responding to emergency calls and participating in training activities. You will be exposed to hazardous materials, extreme temperatures, and other challenging conditions. You must be able to lift and carry heavy equipment and wear protective gear.
