Job Summary:
The Medical Laboratory Tech performs a variety of tasks to ensure accurate and timely patient test results. This includes operating and maintaining laboratory equipment, performing quality control checks, and troubleshooting issues. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical laboratory technology and be certified by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP).
Responsibilities:
- Perform laboratory tests and procedures to diagnose and manage human illness
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including automation and computerization
- Conduct quality control checks and troubleshoot issues
- Handle and process biological specimens, including blood, tissue, and bodily fluids
- Work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
Requirements:
- Associate's degree in medical laboratory technology or a related field
- ASCP certification or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a laboratory setting
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Work Environment:
This is a variable shift position, with the possibility of working evenings, weekends, and holidays. The ideal candidate will be flexible and able to adapt to changing circumstances.
