The Peninsula Jewish Community Center is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Family Engagement Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our Jewish Life team, you will play a vital role in fostering connections among Jewish families with young children on the North Peninsula.
Job SummaryThis is a 10-hour per week position that will focus on developing relationships with under-connected families with Jewish children ages 0-6, and facilitating connections among families with appropriate Jewish organizations, resources, and each other. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting the PJ Library program, enrolling new families, tracking and reporting connections made with Jewish families, and attending professional development trainings with the PJ Library Bay Area Parent Connector team.
Key Responsibilities- Initiate individual conversations with PJ Library parents focused on relationship building and resource sharing
- Create one Weekend Gathering each month, at a time convenient for parents, for Jewish families from the North Peninsula
- Represent PJ Library at one community event each month, focused on recruitment and engagement for book subscriptions as well as procuring newsletter signups, joining local Jewish Parents WhatsApp groups, and other modalities of connection
- External Communication (social media and e-newsletter) to curate and share events and resources from the North Peninsula Jewish community with parents
- Onsite Jewish Parent/Family Engagement at several North Peninsula Jewish preschools and ECE programs throughout the year
- Ability to connect with parents and relate to parents with young children
- Background in family engagement or education is beneficial
- Understanding of and experience with Jewish community work is preferred
- Understanding and appreciation of diversity within the Jewish community is preferred
- Enthusiastic, friendly, and organized with strong follow-through skills
- Proficient in persuasive English writing and content creation
- Skilled and comfortable with regular social media engagement and presence
- Willingness to work some nights (approx. once per month) and weekends (approx. twice per month) to organize and facilitate gatherings and activities at times that are appealing to working parents and their families
This role may require remaining stationary, standing for extended periods, and moving within the work area. Utilizing office equipment, computers, and communication mediums. Occasional lifting of items up to 10 lbs. Comfortable working in off-site locations. The work environment may be noisy and involve close proximity with others.
