Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at Amentum. As a key member of our customer-led team, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating work to support vehicle assembly equipment commissioning and launch.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead commissioning activities on the plant floor for new assembly equipment, including oversight and program management of activities required to achieve PPAP, cycle-time, and throughput.
  • Design and implement body manufacturing processes and equipment to grow production capacity in line with corporate goals.
  • Partner with production engineers and leaders to ensure a successful ramp and long-term production.
  • Provide product feedback to design engineering teams to ensure manufacturability without compromising product function or performance.
  • Ensure achievement of safety, quality, cost, timing, and throughput targets on all projects.
  • Provide regular, metric-based project updates to the management team.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a similar technical field, or 20 years of relevant experience.
  • 15+ years of experience in an engineering role related to manufacturing equipment and process.
  • Knowledgeable in high and low volume manufacturing skills and concepts, including cycle time analysis, quality control, equipment efficiency, equipment selection, return on investment, etc.
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, cycle time, and throughput analysis, and process optimization.
  • Experience with managing a manufacturing team to deliver key customer metrics.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems and see the solution implemented to a high level of accuracy and quality.
  • Ability to work independently to develop a plan to execute deliverables with general guidance.
  • Capable of working as a member of a team across several cross-functional disciplines, including with external stakeholders.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experienced in working within 2D and 3D CAD environments.
Working Conditions

This role requires occasional lifting and carrying of up to 30 lbs. of project-related items. The work environment is an industrial factory and office setting, with potential for office PPE related to COVID-19 and proper footwear and PPE for any required visits to construction sites.

Travel Requirements

This role requires up to 100% travel, with the ability to legally operate a motor vehicle.
