About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate After-School Literacy Program Coach to join our team at Read Better Be Better. As a Program Coach, you will play a vital role in facilitating our after-school reading program, guiding and mentoring a cohort of young readers and youth leaders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the literacy program, ensuring curriculum progress and promoting a safe and healthy learning environment.
  • Train and mentor youth leaders in RBBB's curriculum to foster reading confidence skills in their peers.
  • Attend essential paid training and onboarding prior to starting at your assigned school.
  • Meet with your Program Coordinator weekly to share successes, address concerns, and receive needed materials.
  • Participate in professional development workshops during the semester.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Preferred candidates are enrolled in a relevant degree program or have experience working with children in a school setting.
  • Classroom management skills and a patient personality are essential.

Work Schedule:

A minimum of 5 hours per week is expected, with opportunities to substitute for other schools if interested in more working hours.

Location:

You will be assigned to one of our partnering schools for the semester, with the option to work in multiple schools if desired.
