Counselor Specialist

This role is part of an integrated health center, where the Therapist will work closely with a multi-disciplinary team to provide comprehensive mental health and recovery treatment.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnosing and determining appropriate levels of care and treatment needs, making referrals when clinically indicated.
• Providing high-quality outpatient mental health treatment for patients, including individual, group, and family modalities.
• Collaborating with a team of professionals involved in caring for shared clients via Epic, email, phone, or face-to-face interactions.
• Completing comprehensive, client-focused assessments, treatment plans, and treatment evaluations.
• Providing crisis intervention and assisting in the development and facilitation of support groups and therapy groups.
• Demonstrating unconditional positive regard and conducting all aspects of job responsibilities with a focus on exceptional customer service.
• Maintaining patient records as directed by agency policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Master's degree in social work or counseling.
• Minimum of LISW or LPCC required.
• Post-master's experience providing treatment in a health/mental health/substance use and treatment setting preferred.
• Knowledge of, sensitivity to, interest in, and competence in cultural differences, HIV/AIDS, minority health, sexual practices, and working with persons of color, the LGBTQ+ community, and poverty.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications and other computer applications required.
• Reliable transportation, driver's license, and proof of auto insurance required.
• Knowledge and adherence to professional standards and ethics.
