We are Para la Naturaleza, a nonprofit environmental organization based in Puerto Rico, seeking a dedicated Environmental Interpreter to join our team. This role offers a unique opportunity to inspire others to take action in favor of nature through various tours and educational programs.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead educational tours and programs in our regions, promoting environmental awareness and appreciation.
- Develop and implement engaging educational content, incorporating hands-on activities and interactive experiences.
- Collaborate with our team to design and deliver high-quality educational programs, ensuring alignment with our organization's mission and goals.
- Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring a positive experience for our visitors and stakeholders.
- Conduct fieldwork, including outdoor activities, and maintain a safe and healthy environment for participants.
- Bachelor's Degree in Natural Sciences, Biology, Environmental Sciences, History, Geography, Agronomy, or a related field.
- At least 1 year of experience in a similar position, offering tours and managing groups and volunteers.
- Fully bilingual, with excellent communication skills in both English and Spanish (spoken and written).
- Knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and map interpretation is a plus.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and operating systems like Windows & MAC.
- Puerto Rico Driver's License (Category #4) and ability to drive buses, trolleys, and other vehicles.
- Certified Interpretative Guide from the National Association for Interpretation and/or CPR and First Aid certifications.
