Vaccinating Pharmacist

At Northern Pharmacy & Medical Equip Corp., we are seeking a skilled Vaccinating Pharmacist to join our team. As a Vaccinating Pharmacist, you will play a critical role in administering COVID-19 vaccines to patients.

• Assess and evaluate the immunization status and needs of patients through knowledge of current vaccine-preventable diseases, immunization guidelines, vaccination schedules, state, federal, and international requirements, and client medical history.
• Interpret international immunization records and educate patients and caregivers about the importance of immunization, following recommended immunization schedules, possible side effects of immunizations, and aftercare.
• Draw up vaccines according to manufacturer's instructions and Northern Pharmacy Standard Procedure and administer them using safe and proper techniques and a system of double checks to ensure accuracy.
• Complete appropriate client and clinic records to ensure correct vaccines are administered and documented.
• Participate in off-site Vaccination Clinics in the community, including regularly scheduled and seasonal clinics, and transport biologicals, sharps, and other required supplies to clinic sites in a safe and secure manner.
• Assess and evaluate blood pressure and counsel and refer as needed utilizing current protocols.
• Participate in community events such as health fairs to promote increased rates of immunization.
• Prepare for and respond to emergencies, such as a communicable disease outbreak, within a clinic or in the community at large.
• Ensure that client records are kept secure and confidential and maintained consistent with Health Department policies and procedures and HIPAA standards.

• Must be a Registered Pharmacist in the State of Maryland.
• Must have an active Maryland Pharmacist certificate to administer immunizations or vaccinations.
• Professionally interact with health care professionals and patients.
• Must have excellent interpersonal skills.
• Proof of COVID vaccination is required.
