Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Resource Specialist to join our team at Massachusetts Eye and Ear. As a key member of our Care Coordination Department, you will play a critical role in supporting the discharge planning process and providing administrative support to our clinical teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct administrative support to the discharge planning process, working collaboratively with the Discharge Planning RN Case Manager.
- Interact with patients and their families, clinical and ancillary hospital staff, and other internal and external customers.
- Utilize effective communication skills to converse comfortably with patients and their caregivers, department staff, and unit-based staff.
- Work independently and with little supervision, demonstrating a high degree of flexibility and independence.
- Participate in multiple activities and provide support to all members of the Care Coordination Department.
Requirements:
- Some college or Associate degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years relevant healthcare experience required.
- Excellent assessment and creative problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrates effective interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Demonstrates ability to function as a team player.
- Strong organizational, time management and priority-setting skills.
- Goal oriented and accountable.
- Proficient in written and verbal communication.
- Ability to work independently and with little supervision.
- Knowledge and understanding of medical terminology.
- Excellent computer skills.
