Histology Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Histology Technician to join our team in the Anatomical Pathology department. As a Histology Technician, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to histological techniques and related instruments. This includes recognizing factors that affect procedures and results, using and monitoring quality control programs, and performing simple instrument maintenance.

• Perform histological tests and procedures with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Recognize and respond to critical values and reportable results
• Assist with direct patient care procedures and perform cyto prep as needed
• Participate in the training of others and demonstrate self-motivation in performing job duties and following procedures

• Graduate of an education program approved by the credentialing body for the required credential(s)
• HT(ASCP) or HTL(ASCP) certification within 1 year
• Ability to effectively communicate with patients, physicians, and co-workers
• Basic computer knowledge and ability to operate multiple computer systems
