Job Description

Brigham & Women's Hospital is seeking an experienced EH&S Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Environmental Affairs department, you will be responsible for leading the implementation of our EH&S program, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and promoting a culture of safety and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement EH&S policies and procedures
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies
  • Manage chemical waste collection and disposal programs
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including OSHA and EPA
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to promote a culture of safety and sustainability
  • Develop and implement training programs for EH&S staff and other hospital employees
  • Conduct incident investigations and develop corrective actions
  • Manage EH&S budgets and resources
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Environmental Health and Safety or related field
  • 5-8 years of experience in EH&S, preferably in a hospital or laboratory setting
  • Professional certifications, such as CSP, CIH, or CHMM, preferred
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
Working Conditions

The EH&S Manager will work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, with occasional work in environments with biological, chemical, or physical hazards. The successful candidate will be able to wear respiratory and other personal protective equipment as necessary to perform safely.
