Mortgage Originator Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Mortgage Originator to join our team at M&T Bank. As a Mortgage Originator, you will be responsible for originating mortgage applications within low-to-moderate income neighborhoods and to low-to-moderate income borrowers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Originate mortgage applications and participate in Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) related activities and functions within M&T community bank regions
• Cultivate new mortgage business and market, service, and promote the bank's mortgage products
• Travel to and work at prospective customers' homes or business locations, following up on potential customers via travel or telephone
• Market bank-wide proprietary CRA products and agency-related products to low-to-moderate income borrowers and in low-to-moderate income neighborhoods

Requirements:

• Associates degree and 2 years sales experience, or a combined minimum of 4 years higher education and/or relevant work experience, including a minimum of 2 years sales experience
• Ability to travel extensively with limited supervision and interact with various housing agencies and governmental entities focused on CRA initiatives
