About the Role

The Tax Specialist will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timely delivery of all tax deliverables for the Bracebridge funds, including onshore and offshore master-feeder fund structures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation of tax computations, allocations, estimates, and returns, including Forms 926, 8858, 8865, 8886, 5471, and W-8.
  • ASC 740 Uncertain Tax Position analyses and monthly NRA Withholding Statements.
  • Month-end close process and production of reconciliations related to balance sheet and income statement accounts.
  • Analyze and identify book-to-tax differences, including wash sales, PFICs, bond bifurcation, and accretion/amortization of discount/premium.
  • Document tax and accounting policies and procedures.
  • Assess and evaluate reporting processes and systems to ensure they are efficient and effective.
  • Work with internal technical resources to enhance existing processes and develop new systems as required.

Requirements

  • BA degree in accounting or finance.
  • CPA, MST or working towards a CPA or MST preferred.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years financial services experience with exposure to the taxation of financial products and hedge/mutual funds or investment companies preferred.
  • Knowledge of fixed income securities, derivatives, and complex financial instruments.
  • Proficient with software, including advanced MS Excel.
  • Knowledge of Total Return accounting system (an SS&C Globe-Op platform) a plus.
