Brief overview of duties:Seeking Printmaking Adjunct Professor
The Department of Visual, Performing, and Media Arts at Benedictine University is seeking
a qualified adjunct instructor to teach Printmaking courses during the Fall 2024 semester and
beyond. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching in-person studio courses at
our campus located in Mesa, AZ.
This is a part-time, adjunct position. The appointment is for one semester at a time, with the possibility
of renewal. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. The instructor should
be passionate about teaching and capable of engaging students in meaningful discussions and critical thinking
about art and its context.
RequiredQualifications:
•MFA or Master's degree in Printmaking or a related field
•Professional experience or knowledge in a related field
•Teaching experience at the university level is preferred
•Capable of teaching a variety of Printmaking courses, such as Silkscreen, Lithography, Relief, and Intaglio (Etching). Additional opportunities to teach in other areas may be available depending on experience, such as Painting, Drawing, Art Therapy, and Design Foundation
•Knowledgeable in handling and maintaining Printmaking-related materials, chemicals, and equipment in a safe and responsible manner
•Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
•Ability to teach in face-to-face, remote, and online modalities, as needed

May require bending, or sitting for longperiods of time. Specific vision abilities required by this job include closevision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception andability to adjust focus.
