The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a small portfolio of Build Investments and the Catalyze Civic Lab cohort, which focuses on early-stage ventures advancing democracy. This role involves strategic advising, project leadership, and establishing strong, trusting relationships with social entrepreneurs. The Partner will also serve as a Board Member for the organizations in their portfolio, providing governance and support. A key aspect of the role is to center equity and proximity in all activities, with a specific focus on the communities served by the portfolio organizations. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated passion for the mission, experience in high-growth, entrepreneurial organizations, and a strong background in the democracy or civic engagement space.
Applicants for the Partner position at the company should have a proven track record in leadership, with a focus on driving organizational change and transformation. Experience in centering equity and proximity, as well as expertise in programs that advance democracy and civic participation, is essential. The role requires the ability to lead teams, manage complex projects, and build professional relationships. A background in advising and supporting senior leaders, particularly in the areas of strategy, leadership, and operations, is also necessary. Service on the boards of high-growth nonprofits is preferred.
