Company Overview Our client is one of the leading companies in Puerto Rico in the distribution of pharmaceutical, health, consumer, and veterinary products.
They are seeking a Procurement Director Job Summary Professional work that consists of ensuring the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of the purchasing process within the organization.
This involves setting purchasing policies, managing purchasing budgets, and overall management of purchasing processes.
The role also involves setting and facilitating the organization's overall purchasing strategy.
In addition, working with other professionals, inside and outside the organization regarding purchasing, including communicating with managers, administrators, sales representatives, among others.
Support vendors and suppliers to ensure the procurement process runs smoothly and improving it where necessary.
Work alongside senior management to contribute to business objectives, following company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities and Duties Responsible for monitor logistic, planning, analyzing and direct the tasks and activities of Purchasing Department, to ensure a healthy inventory of the products, such as brand, generic, home health care, medical equipment & OTC, Consumer.
Develop and communicate a procurement business plan; establish and implement long-term goals for the department in order to promote effectiveness and efficiency.
Develop and execute a long-term strategy to facilitate improvements for Procurement Services.
Ensure the execution of procurement strategies across the organization to ensure consistent and high-quality value delivery.
Develop, communicate, and administer procurement team performance, development plans, implement contracts and monitor bids. Lead rigorous and objective contract negotiations with key internal stakeholders, support groups, among others.
Conduct business review meetings with key stakeholders to assess risk, review future strategies, and identify potential cost down and improvement opportunities.
Maintain strong working relationships with strategic suppliers to assure cost, quality, and delivery targets are met.
Build market intelligence capabilities on key markets, suppliers, and solutions to support strategy development purposes.
Analyze market and delivery trends to develop procurement technologies and processes that support those trends.
Serve as the primary contact for procurement related questions, training, conflicts, complaints, policy and procedure interpretation and alignment by all departments.
Education Master's degree in Finance, Inventory Management or Supply Chain and five to ten years of related experience; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proficiency in Programs: Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook at an intermediate or advanced level.
Advanced knowledge in Computers (skilled in management / medium-advanced transcription) Knowledge of pharmacy products. Completely Bilingual (Spanish and English).
Reading ability is to write and speak in both languages at an advanced level. Ability to read, analyze and translate general publications related to the business world, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to perform complex analysis, projections, budget management, write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and the public.
