How you make a difference:
The Psychosocial Rehabilitation Specialist (PSRS) is responsible for providing rehabilitation services, crisis intervention, and monitoring and communicating with clients diagnosed with severe psychiatric symptoms. This includes assisting with daily operations, conducting activities, providing clinical support, education, and vocational rehabilitation to help individuals develop skills and access resources needed to increase their capacity to be successful in their chosen environment. The PSRS works directly with clients, families, stakeholders, and the healthcare team to address concerns and ensure compliance with department protocols, policies, guidelines, and facility standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide services aimed at reducing symptoms and promoting success for clients through restoration and maintenance.Assist clients with education, work skills, social skills, coping skills, sobriety, and community reintegration, while accurately documenting client needs and interventions.Offer problem-solving, support, supervision, observation, and positive reinforcement related to program and social activities.Monitor safety and security in the treatment environment, report changes in client physical conditions/behaviors, and engage in specialized programs and research.Participate in committees, meetings, and monthly multidisciplinary treatment teams to disseminate information to clinical and direct care staff. Qualifications & Requirements:
Education
Graduation from High School or GED (required).Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Behavioral Sciences, or related filed (preferred).Experience
Minimum of (2) two years fulltime experience, or its parttime equivalent, working in a mental health program serving persons with severe and persistent mental disabilities.A bachelors degree with a major in psychology, social work or behavioral sciences may be substituted for the two (2) years of full-time work experience or its part-time equivalent.Licenses/Certifications
