JOB SUMMARY: A Drafter-Estimator combines drafting and blueprint reading skills to complete accurate takeoffs and cost estimates.
The Drafter-Estimator will produce accurate estimates based on material quantities and labor considerations.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES : Develop and maintain detailed estimates and proposals under the supervision of the Chief Estimator and Preconstruction Director ensuring all bids meet clear milestones and deadlines.
Analize project specifications, drawings and requirements to fully understand the scope of work.
Complete accurate takeoffs for Civil, Architectural and Structural components using OnScreen Takeoff, Excell, and Sage Estimating software.
Request material and/or labor pricing from vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors, maintaining a professional relationship and answering questions about project scope.
Compare quotes received against project documents to ensure compliance with specifications; suggest cost-saving alternatives when possible.
Maintain a comparative analysis of scope, quantities, and cost data between quotes received to identify potential gaps and discrepancies Assist Senior Estimators with complex bids.
Perform additional duties as required to meet project and business needs.
  REQUIREMENTS: Associate or technical drafting degree, Architecture degree, Engineering degree, or related field.
Proven experience in estimating and drafting for construction projects Attention to detail and precision in creating takeoffs Strong mathematical and analytical skills for accurate cost calculations Familiarity with construction management processes and tools.
Fully bilingual is a must.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with team members and stakeholders High level of organization and efficiency, reliability with meeting deadlines.
Ability to plan and organize, work independently and contribute to team efforts.
