Manufacturing Software/Automation Engineer

Support internal projects and activities complying with the technical requirements.
Primary Tasks:
  1. Support installation, startup, configuration and validation of new equipment.
  2. Document software and/or test development by writing documents, reports, memos, and change requests. Methods used are determined by approved procedures and standards.
  3. Perform assessments and modifications to automated systems to add or improve its functionalities. Automated equipment includes, but is not limited to:
    1. PLCs (AB CompactLogix)
    2. HMI/SCADA system (FT View SE, ME)
    3. Vision Inspection systems (Cognex VisionPro, Insight)
    4. Motion Control
  4. Develop maintenance procedures for automated systems.
  5. Recommend and/or implement business continuity strategies.
    1. Identify obsolete parts and replacement options.
    2. Perform proof of concepts to assess feasibility of proposed solutions.
    3. Develop and test backup/restore procedures.
  6. Participate in meetings and provide status update when required.
  7. Contact manufacturers and suppliers when necessary to obtain quotes or to identify solutions.
  8. Coordinate activities related to assigned projects and escalate when necessary to remove barriers that affects project scope and/or schedule.


Requirements
  1. Knowledge and experience of Rockwell Automation products
    1. Design and programing of CompactLogix PLCs (Required)
    2. Design and programing of FactoryTalk View SE applications (Required)
    3. Design and programing of FactoryTalk View ME applications (Required)
    4. Design and configuration of FactoryTalk Historian (Preferred)
  2. Knowledge and experience of software development using visual studio (Preferred)
  3. Knowledge and experience with SQL databases. (Preferred)
  4. Knowledge and experience with Ethernet networks.
  5. Previous experience in regulated industry (Pharma, Biotech, Medical Devices)
  6. Knowledge and experience with Vision Inspection Systems
  7. Knowledge and experience with motion control and machine safety
  8. Basic knowledge of manufacturing traceability systems (e.g. MES)
