Job Description
The role of the Associate Product Manager in partnership with sales (Olympus Direct Sales & Distributor Channel) is to support the creation and implementation of UGN Business.
The Associate Product Manager will work along the OLA UGN Product Manager by supporting strategic and large-scale evaluations to gain market support of Olympus technologies. This position combines multiple functional attributes such as sales, marketing, clinical knowledge, product and procedure knowledge, leadership capabilities and, C level communication skills. Additionally, the position has responsibility for participating with developing & executing the annual business plan and long-term strategic plan for UGN business and in the identification and promotion of opportunities to provide cross-platform marketing opportunities to enhance and strengthen position within the market. Provide constant presence in the Clinical Field within existing and new customers.
Job Duties
Serve as the product expert to drive adoption of UGN products. Work closely with UGN Product Manager by supporting strategic and large-scale evaluations, strategic and large-scale conversions / installations, various Marketing activities & initiatives, field and formal Training events, and product development activities including animal labs. Proactively stay informed of relevant clinical studies, papers and other pertinent information and provides updates to product marketing, when necessary. Help create best practice road maps for Olympus Surgical Technologies. Secure business intelligence to provide input and feedback to Marketing for key growth areas through weekly reports, attendance at meetings and market information actively communicating with the BU Leader, direct and indirect Sales Representatives Maintaining awareness of market position of competitors & market share. Collaborate by understanding customer and competitor’s insight within the account and communicate to commercial (Sales and Marketing). Develop and implement promotional programs that help manage product lifecycles and potentially integrate new product launches. Analyse and control various indicators including sales of product through direct and indirect channel of the supported region, pointing to Management relevant information about the business necessary for the proper maintenance of strategies and obtaining the expected results for the business. Collaborate with sales training team (organization, logistic, Demo equipment’s set up and turn down ) in classroom session as requested. Support and responsible for the field training program as per request Be able to support the UGN Product Manager if necessary to Initiate and complete Polaris process when HCP are engaged for a FMA (Field Marketing Activities). Support UGN BU leader in Organize and conduct Field Marketing Activities as well as follow up activities (technology adoption, return investments through reports. Responsible to manage (open and close) Asset Management requests for Demos, Evaluations, Congresses, Grants, Sales Trainings and Field Marketing Activities. Support Tenders analysis: product specifications and configurations. Attend medical and industry conventions to meet with HCPs to obtain voice of customer (VOC), keep up to date regarding competitive products and positioning, and stay current with developments in the field. Attends trade shows as necessary to demonstrate Olympus equipment and meet with potential and current customers. Attends seminars and sales meetings in order to develop knowledge about division’s products/procedures and communicate to commercial team. Collaborate with the BU Manager in the development of new product launch, strategy and execution. Develop and support HCP relationships and help to identify where Olympus requires HCP expertise to support the business. This will be accomplished while adhering to our code of ethics and compliance guidelines. Work with product Marketing and Professional Education to define HCP needs for the safe and effective use of Olympus products. Support Grants and Professional Education events to ensure safe and effective use of products. Provide the sales organization with educational support, resources, and guidance on the UGN technologies. Provide skills and resources to enable the sales team to competently influence healthcare professionals and other champions on the purchase of our offerings. Study all training material and practice with medical equipment/devices up to a deep level to serve as a professional guidance and specialist to the end users before, during and after procedures. Required:
BA/BS or appropriate relevant on-the job experience may be considered a substitute for minimal educational requirement; advanced business degree preferred External Experience: Combination of minimum of 5 years of healthcare sales, marketing and /or clinical experience within a hospital operating and procedures rooms environment. Internal Experience: Combination of minimum of 2 years of healthcare sales, marketing and/or clinical experience within a hospital operating and procedures room environment (minimum of 1 year within Olympus preferably). Must be able to work with Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel files. Willingness to travel 50%of the time for customer meetings and tradeshows; some international travel is required.Preferred:
Experience in developing and managing HCP relationships. Experience in launching new technologies. Proven ability to develop and grow business based on ‘procedure-focused sales. Demonstrated success in developing accounts; ability to develop and execute marketing plans and lead change. Experience in interacting with a diverse cross functional team, strong prospecting skills, self-starter, capable of independent action, detail oriented, multi-task/time management, ability to internalize technical concepts, products and services.
