As an FPGA Engineer you will be responsible for the design and verification of FPGA and ASICs for applications in military products and different electronics applications under Avionics solutions. You will also thrive on tackling challenges as the position requires the use of problem-solving skills, an action-oriented mindset to address problems and work closely with other engineers to contribute to project goals and gain hands-on experience.

This position will sit at our Aguadilla, PR location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment.

What YOU will do:

You will support the definition of FPGA architecture, requirements, and documentation. You will develop FPGA designs for major vendors and device families including Xilinx. You will translate system level requirements into FPGA requirements. You will design and code in VHDL or Verilog for reliability and maintainability. You will implement and integrate FPGA designs at the board level. You will testbench development for the verification of RTL blocks using VHDL or System Verilog. You will collaborate on the modeling of algorithms, partition and perform code development and simulation. You will perform design and verification activities (simulation) to satisfy the objectives of DO-254. You will work with revision control concepts and tools (e.g. Git, Subversion)

Education & Experience:

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering (Computer or Electrical) or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 1-2 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 4-6 years of relevant experience. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Demonstrated professional or educational experience communicating in English (verbal and written).

Skills we value:

Experience in design and/or verification of FPGAs Experience in some programing languages like C, C++, Java or Python Experience in using standard lab equipment like Oscilloscopes, Wave generators, and Power Supplies. Familiarity with best practice chip-level verification techniques and languages (e.g. constrained random, functional coverage, System Verilog)  Test Bench generation (including drivers, checkers, assertions, etc.) Universal Verification Method (UVM/UVMF) or OVM Experience with QuestaSim & Matlab Simulink Experience with DO-254 development and verification process Experience with PCIe, DDR4, and DisplayPort Verification IP Familiarity with Clock domain crossing and Linting Tools (QCDC, Qlint, Spyglass) Design for Test (DFT) and manufacturability issues Experience with Unix/Linux, scripting, C/C++, and/or Perl
