The Opportunity


This position works out of our Arecibo location in the CRM division in Puerto Rico at the second shift (1:00pm - 9:30pm) Tuesday to Saturday

As the Facilities Technician, you will Assure no business interruption to the manufacturing processes related to utilities/facility through the proper set up, maintenance and troubleshooting of facilities and utilities equipment. Perform continues improvement activities related to utilities and overhead.


What You’ll Do 
• Provides maintenance, mechanical and electrical performance for the facilities and utilities equipment at the site including Vacuum, Compressed Air, Emergency Generation, Power, City and Well Water, HVAC Equipment. 
• Contact suppliers and outside vendors to maintain a complete stock of spare parts for the equipment under the Facilities and Utilities scope. 
• Establish and execute the right maintenance procedures and frequencies based on equipment manufacture's operation and maintenance manuals, recommendations and equipment reliability history.
• Report results to the appropriate piers and clients (inside/outside facilities) on a frequent basis. 
• Administer the computerized system of preventive maintenance (IFOR EAM). 
• Coordinate with outside contractors and vendor’s miscellaneous work related to the scope mentioned above. 
• Must have experience and be a member of the Emergency Response Team. 
• Ensure compliance with all Abbott procedures and all applicable regulatory agency requirements. 
• Other duties as assigned. 

Required Qualifications
• High School Diploma/ GED. Associate degree or bachelor's is preferred.
• Electricity and or refrigeration licenses, air conditioning, mechanics or equivalent technical experience.
• Required to have 2-4 years’ experience in a medical device, pharmaceutical or electronic industry.
• Must have good verbal and written communication in English and Spanish.
• Must have computer skills in Word, Power Point, Excel, and Outlook INFOR EAM
• Must memorize details, analyze and have good concentration.



The base pay for this position is $13.40 – $26.80 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
