Position Summary:

Saint John’s School, a Toddler to 12-grade co-ed secular school is actively seeking a dynamic and seasoned individual to join our team. The role of Athletics Assistant, offered on a part-time basis, encompasses a diverse array of responsibilities within the athletics department. As a pivotal member of our team, the position will provide invaluable administrative support. ensuring the seamless operation of our athletics program and events. Moreover, this position will wield considerable influence in enriching the overall athletics program, promoting sportsmanship, and ensuring the well-rounded development of our coed student-athletes.

Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Physical Education, or related field.A minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience in athletics administration, coaching, or related roles, preferably within a private or independent school setting.Strong understanding of PPK through 12th grade school athletics programs.Knowledge of athletics regulations, compliance standards, and safety protocols.Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.Exemplary work ethic, a positive demeanor, adaptability, and a willingness to undertake assigned tasks.NFHS, CPR and First Aid certifications (or willing to obtain).Demonstrating a deep passion for and staying informed about current advancements in educational theory and practice.Excellent written and oral skills in both English and Spanish a must.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Ability to build connections with children, families and school staff required.Demonstrate ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.Proficiency in thriving within a dynamic and fast-paced setting.Commitment to working in and fostering an inclusive community.Understand and exhibit high standards of professional conduct.Solid and effective interpersonal and communication skillsComputer/technological skills.Effective ability to organize, prioritize and manage time adequately.Demonstrated organizational prowess and adept problem-solving abilities.Tasks and Responsibilities:Collaborate with the Director of Athletics to develop and implement a comprehensive athletic program that aligns with the school’s mission and values.Offer strategic insights to elevate the caliber and diversity of the athletic offering across all grade levels.Assist in the meticulous planning, scheduling, and execution of athletic events, including games, practices, tournaments, and fundraising activities.Organize and participate in community events that showcase the achievement of our student-athletes.Oversee the coaching staff, ensuring effective recruitment, training, and professional development.Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to manage athletic facilities, ensuring they meet safety standards and are well maintained.Assist in the development and management of the athletic department budget.Identify opportunities for cost-effective improvement and resource allocation.Maintain accurate records of the athletic department expenditures and revenue sources.Cultivate robust relationships with students, parents, faculty, and the wider community to promote school spirit and encourage engagement in athletics-centric activities.Foster a positive team culture, emphasizing sportsmanship, teamwork, and character development.How to Apply:-Interested candidate, please send a letter of interest detailing your qualifications, teaching philosophy, three (3) references, and your Curriculum Vitae to employment@sjspr.org.
